Our Midlands team welcomes Joe Harman as Land Manager, the latest appointment to an expanding Land and Planning team. Joe will play a crucial role in the growth and delivery of our Midlands region’s ambitious land plan.

Our Midlands region has recently adapted its strategy to align with its new operational area in the Midlands which covers Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Solihull, and at this pivotal time, Joe will focus on driving the land acquisition strategy in these target areas. A crucial component of the region’s growth strategy includes acquisition of opportunities with the capacity for a minimum of 50 homes or more in towns and larger villages, with and without planning. Joe will play an integral role in securing new deals and managing development projects from sale through to commencement of construction.

Joe Harman joins recently appointed Regional Land Director Bernie Vent, and Senior Land Manager Sam Taylor, bringing 10 years’ experience in the land and development sector, with his most recent role being Oxfordshire based independent developer, Bellwood Homes. His experience includes management of a wide selection of new build developments from starter homes to bespoke six -bedroom houses across the UK.

Flagship developments for our Midlands team include Fernleigh Park, in Stratford-Upon-Avon, where we are the lead developer on the first phase (400 homes) of the proposed garden village with capacity for up to 3,000 new homes. The major project will transform the former Long Marston airfield, opening up 52 acres of green space and outdoor amenities.

Commenting on his appointment, Joe said:

“It’s a fantastic time to be joining Cala Homes as they continue to grow with an ambitious Five-Year Plan. I’m looking forward to being a part of a team set on delivering an increased number of units while building on the company’s reputation as a housebuilder focused on quality and community-first development. We expect the post-pandemic housing market is set to continue to perform strongly, with an increasing number of land opportunities coming to market and I’m keen to get started.”

Bernie Vent, Regional Land Director at Cala Homes Midlands, added:

“Having Joe on board strengthens the team yet further, enabling us to propel our exciting land plans. Joe has a proven track record in land acquisition and development, and is well placed to take a leading role in ensuring we continue to develop high quality housing, with attractive amenities, in line with our commitments as a business to sustainability.”
