The stunning showhomes at Cala at Mindenhurst offer the latest interior design inspiration for those considering starting a new life in this brand new community near Deepcut in the heart of Surrey.

Inspired by the development’s unique location surrounded by woodland and green open spaces, Senior Sales Manager Rebecca Harris from Interiors by DAPA brought the outside in, creating a beautiful yet practical family home with natural textures and a classic colour palette.

We talk to Rebecca about her inspiration for the design scheme of one of her favourite properties – the four bedroom Kiswick - and ask her to let us in one some secrets to recreating that showhome style in our own homes.

What was your inspiration for the showhome design at Mindenhurst?

Our inspiration very much came from the location of the development and its rural setting surrounded by beautiful woodland and open fields. We wanted to create a home with a lived-in family feel while still achieving a sense of aspiring to live here. We used the latest trends and a touch of luxury which is synonymous with the Cala brand.

How did you go about creating the showhome look?

We carried out a recce to really get to know the local area & spent time with Cala to fully understand their vision for this brand new community.  We discussed the target market for the homes and the kind of lifestyle on offer which we wanted to reflect in the showhome design.

With those prospective homeowners in mind, we started to create the overall design theme and pulled together our design boards with special planning, colours, fabrics, prints, lighting and furniture styles that would all come together to help us achieve the desired look.

Talk us through the detail of the overall theme and how this was carried through in each of the rooms?

The overall theme was designed to reflect the woodland setting in a contemporary style.  The look was light and fresh with textured finishes, natural oak furniture, vintage leather, abstract artwork and hand-painted ceramics. The neutral scheme is lifted with accents of blue and green and we had fun with wallpaper, with leaf and bark prints providing a nod to the nature of the doorstep. Overall it’s a beautiful contemporary home that looks great, & functions really well for the whole family.

What do you think the key interior trends for the autumn will be?

I think it’s all going to be about reconnection – rediscovering the world around us via the influence of our surroundings.  We are seeing a host of fluid designs with natural colours coming through such as ultramarine, night sky, spring green, sea shimmer and shadow grey.

What are your top tips for those looking to create showhome style in their own property?

Rather than follow any set design rules, create a home that is truly individual to you. Think about how you want to live and feel in your home, what makes you feel good and what works for your individual lifestyle. Consider comfort as well as style and go for colours, patterns and furniture that reflect your personality.

Cala at Mindenhurst offers the best of both worlds; a rural setting with  a school, shop, pub and sports facilities on the doorstep, yet still offering easy access to the nearby towns of Farnborough, Camberley, Guildford and Woking.

A range of three and four bedroom homes are currently available, priced from £482,000.For further information click here or telephone 01252 883357.
