Land is the lifeblood of our business, but we also recognise that it is one of our country’s most precious resources. At Cala, we understand the importance of a responsible approach to development, providing much-needed homes whilst respecting the character and integrity of the local areas in which we build.
We are committed to identifying appropriate sites for development and creating sustainable new communities for many generations to come.
Our experienced land teams work in partnership with landowners, local authorities, registered providers and communities to create tailored solutions that meet the needs of both local stakeholders and future homeowners.
Once planning has been granted on a development, we move quickly to get construction underway, starting work on site as soon as planning is granted and all other consents are in place.
In 2017/18, two strategic sites were contracted, land at Winchburgh, near Edinburgh in partnership with West Coast Capital, where 550 homes have already been built and with approval for a further 2,950 homes; and land at Maidenhead Golf Club, identified by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead as a future residential growth area for the town, for over 2,000 homes, lying adjacent to the town centre and accessible to the station, with growth anticipated to arise with the opening of the Crossrail route into central London.
